IS0 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system.

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organization to improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste gaining a competitive advantage for the company itself and for the interested parties. Consistent with the organization's environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include:

· enhancement of environmental performance;

· fulfillment of compliance obligations;

· achievement of environmental objectives.

Lafor has received the prestigious ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification for its Razboieni manufacturing facility. The plant will be reassessed annually to ensure that it is achieving targets and continuously improving its environmental performance.

As part of the ISO certification process, Lafor examined its operations for opportunities to enhance its handling of raw materials; reduce its environmental footprint; and create replicable, transparent operational processes. The ISO 14001 accreditation covers raw timber purchasing, milling, handling, storing and manufacturing of timber, edge glued panels, drawer parts, chopping blocks, solid wood furniture.
