HARDWOOD TIMBER (ROUGH, S2S, KILN DRIED BEECH & MAPLE) PRODUCTION PROCESS
- Lafor employs band saws for primary and secondary log itemization assisted by skilled personnel for accuracy and maximum utilization of the hardwood resources. Our comprehensive hardwood timber manufacturing process is contained under roofs to protect and enhance the natural color of the wood we saw, steam, and dry. Lafor utilizes the latest technology for steaming and drying its hardwood timber.
- We rip saw and cut off each piece of lumber after the kiln drying process. That means high quality and outstanding appearance. This is a significant competitive advantage for our customers. Most of the lumber manufacturers process the hardwood timber before the kiln drying process. During the kiln drying, the wood twists, cracks, etc. Some other producers don’t sort out these defects, and that means wasted money for customers.
- Another competitive advantage is that we own a very modern and productive - built 2013 and 2020 sawmill, and we have the most significant (1700 cubm) kiln drying capacity in the area. That means that we can supply a constant quantity of lumber year around.
